Kaweco Forest green is one of those Inks that really surprised me, it turned out to be a magnificent ink, however... it requires a specific kind of pen to get the most out of it! This ink was also sponsored by the great folks over a Kaweco, so thanks (yet) again! Let's do a quick review about it...
I must say that I'm not a frequent user of bright-colored inks, but this one has definitely grabbed my attention. When I did the review about the Kaweco Lilliput with this ink, I wasn't too excited about it, mainly because it just looked too simple, nothing original. The colour wasn't different than any other green ink, so it didn't receive much attention since then. But, I was wrong, it is different, it just requires a more specific nib! Once you put this in a wet stub or italic (the broader, the better!), the once bland and boring ink transforms into a beautiful dark green with much more color variation and shading and depth. I was really surprised by this difference, but in a good way! It looks great in my TWSBI mini 1.5 Stub!
It's a very well-behaved ink, it's smooth and it has a good flow. However , it has a tendency to skip every now and then. It didn't occur that often, but definitely more than with most other Kaweco inks!
Overall, this ink was a very pleasant surprise, even though it has higher requirements than most other inks I've used so far! I really like the color and the way it performs. It has definitely become one of my frequent use inks!
As with every Kaweco ink, I think the price point is a bit too high, especially considering the little amount you get for the price (30ml) But in the end, the quality of the ink wins, I really like it, and it definitely deserves some more attention!
Note: this ink was sent to me by Kaweco, free of charge, so I could write this review. I was in no way influenced in the making of this review, nor was I monetarily compensated. The opinions shared in this review are completely my own!
